Duell Crushes 3 HR Against Stockdale High School Monday, April 21st , 2025 Clayton Valley Charter High School left fielder Chandler Duell saw a fantastic day go to waste at Stockdale High School Baseball Field as the Eagles lost, 16-11, despite a trio of home runs from the youngster. "It seems kinda odd, you know?" a somewhat dejected Duell said after his club's defeat. "I mean, hitting three home runs in one game should be enough to win a game, right? I guess that's why they call it a team sport. Tomorrow I might strike out four times and other guys pick me up and we win. It takes more than one guy to get a win." The 17-year-old tallied three homers in a 3-for-6 day, and added 5 RBIs and 3 scored. "That guy really had a game, didn't he?" said Stockdale High School manager Steve Clements. "Luckily we were able to shut down the rest of the team. We are feeling good about getting out of here with the win." Chandler Duell flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Brendan Allen in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Ray Swartz in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th. So far on the season, Duell is hitting .259 with 10 home runs, 21 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has 29 hits and played in 27 games. |
