Eagles Cruise to Final Four with Sweep Saturday, May 18th , 2019 The Stoneman Douglas High School Eagles are on to the Final Four after a convincing series win over the North Hall High School Trojans. Stoneman Douglas High School wrapped up the series sweep with a 11-5 win in the last game, to take the series 2-0. "We expected to win and we executed the way we needed to," said Joaquin Gomez, who was named series MVP. For the series, Gomez hit .556 with a .600 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Stoneman Douglas High School Eagles don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Berkeley Prep High School Buccaneers - Saint Francis High School Lancers series. Saint Francis High School leads the series 1 game to 0. The Final Four schedule will be announced after the Elite Eight finishes. |
