Walker Raps Spring Hill High School for 5 Hits Saturday, April 22nd , 2023 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Mike Walker -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Spring Hill High School Baseball Complex and paced the 8-6 Hurricanes win over the Spring Hill High School Panthers. After his dynamite batting performance, the Cartersville High School first baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. Mike Walker struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, hit an RBI single in the 9th, hit an RBI double in the 11th, walked in the 13th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 15th. To date, Walker has collected 37 hits for a .343 average. He has posted 8 home runs, scored 17 runs and driven in 21 runs. |
