Lancers Win Sweet 16 Wednesday, May 15th , 2019 The Saint Francis High School Lancers are off to the Elite Eight after an exciting Sweet 16 triumph. Saint Francis High School downed the Wesleyan High School Wolves, but needed the entire series to do so, with a 4-0 win tonight at Saint Francis High School Stadium wrapping up the series 2-1. "It's every guy in this room that made this happen. Without us all pulling in the same direction, we don't win this series," said Erik Bailey, who earned MVP honors for a standout offensive series. Bailey put up a .556 with a .667 on-base percentage in the series. He also had 0 home runs, drove in 0 runs and scored 1 runs himself. The Saint Francis High School Lancers will play against the Berkeley Prep High School Buccaneers in the next round. Berkeley Prep High School won their series against the Lubbock Cooper High School Pirates 2 games to 1. The Elite Eight schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes. |
