Washington Raps 4 Roundtrippers Monday, April 7th , 2025 An amazing display of power vaulted Chris Washington and the Stoneman Douglas High School Eagles to victory and into the record books, as the right fielder hit 4 home runs against the Ray High School Texans. Washington was an unstoppable force for the Eagles in the 13-3 triumph at Ray High School Stadium. In the postgame interview, Washington said he started to feel the pressure before his last home run. "I could feel the anticipation from the crowd, the look in my teammates' eyes," he said. "I was already thrilled, but as I stepped in the box I said, please God, let me hit one more." His totals on his history-making day were 5 hits in 6 at-bats with 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Chris Washington hit a two-run home run off Josh Spires in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Matt Lanier in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Ray Gill in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Alejandro Romero in the 9th. At present, Washington is batting .368 with 28 hits and 9 home runs. He has knocked in 17 runs and scored 22 times. |
