Oilers Win Opening Round Saturday, May 11th , 2019 In an exciting Opening Round that had its fair share of drama and intrigue, perhaps it is ABA High School fans who have come out the winner. But on the field, the winners were the Huntington Beach High School Oilers, who edged the Lowndes High School Vikings 2-1 to advance to the Sweet 16. Huntington Beach High School won the final game by a 18-2 count to wrap up the series. John Troia earned series MVP honors, by hitting .500 with a .615 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Huntington Beach High School Oilers will play against the Woodstock High School Wolverines in the next round. Woodstock High School won their series against the Cypress High School Centurions 2 games to 1. The Sweet 16 schedule will be announced after the Opening Round finishes. |
