Eagles Advance to Sweet 16 Saturday, May 11th , 2019 The Etowah High School Eagles were paced by a strong offensive output from Josh Davis as they downed the Spring Hill High School Panthers 2-1 to win the Opening Round. Etowah High School won the final game by a score of 8-2 at Spring Hill High School Baseball Complex to send themselves off to the Sweet 16. "I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said center fielder Davis, who was named MVP. For the series, the MVP hit .250 with a .231 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Etowah High School Eagles will play against the North Hall High School Trojans in the next round. North Hall High School won their series against the Marcus High School Marauders 2 games to 1. The Sweet 16 schedule will be announced after the Opening Round finishes. |
