Tigercats End Crabtree Streak Tuesday, June 21st , 2022 Augusta Capitols center fielder Chuck Crabtree and his hot bat finally met their match at The Capitol Dome. The Vail Tigercats snapped his 20-game hitting string, holding Crabtree hitless in 4 at-bats and also whipping Augusta, 7-1, for good measure. "We're real pleased with this one," Tigercats manager Mike Alexander said. "Nobody wants to be on the wrong end of a streak like that, and clobbering Augusta makes it even sweeter." This year, Crabtree is hitting .286, produced 12 RBIs and 3 home runs, scored 22 times and gotten on base at a .350 rate. |
