5-Hit Blitz by Cornwall's Dawson Friday, May 8th , 2026 Even as a kid, Justin Dawson said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Ballpark of Cincinnati, Dawson showed how well he learned that lesson. The 23-year-old designated hitter had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Cornwall Royals, helping his team knock off the Cincinnati Bombardiers by a score of 8-2. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did." Justin Dawson singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Aaron Hughes in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
