Traverse City Halts Daniels's Hitting Steak Thursday, May 7th , 2026 Mike Daniels, first baseman for the Mescalero Chiefs, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Traverse City Bears. Not only did the Bears break his 20-game hitting streak, they also beat Mescalero by the score of 2-0. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Daniels said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." Posting a .300 batting average to date, Daniels has 7 home runs and 17 RBIs. |
