Mobile left fielder Tony Thomas thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Mobile to a win, 18-8, over Alcoa. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Thomas said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Thomas, the 4th overall pick in the 2020 draft, was 4-for-5 on the day with 6 runs batted in. Tony Thomas hit a solo-shot off Steve Reed in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jesse Summerlin in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, walked in a run in the 6th, doubled in the 9th and hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th. |
