3 Bombs for Aaron Rakers Monday, April 10th , 2023 Aaron Rakers went on an explosive hitting spree against the Rohnert Park Cougars at Ballpark of Greenup, launching a trio of blasts to help the Libertyville Polecats win, 20-10. The right fielder finished 4-for-6 with 5 runs scored and 7 RBI. "It was just one of those days," Rakers said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Rohnert Park skipper Ramiro Mendiola said Rakers was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Aaron Rakers hit a solo-shot off Alex Armenta in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Alex Armenta in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. This season, Rakers is hitting at a .296 pace with 3 home runs, 7 RBIs and has scored 7 times. |
