Wednesday, October 16th , 2024
He may have less experience than most of his ABA Double A peers, but that didn't slow Ken Gavin down at all in 2024.

At the age of 23, the Augusta center fielder has been named the winner of the Western AA Most Valuable Player Award.

He had a .338 batting average and a .427 on-base percentage this year. In 133 games he piled up 166 hits, 33 doubles, 4 triples, 32 home runs, 98 RBIs and 93 runs scored.

"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."

He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Fabian Hartnett of the Augusta Capitols finished second in voting, while Micah Clark of the Cincinnati Bombardiers finished third.
