Best E-AA Reliever Named Wednesday, October 21st , 2026 At the age of 25, Steve Gryder says he still has a lot to learn about life in ABA Double A. But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Winchester Mountaineers reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2026 Eastern AA Reliever of the Year Award. "I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Red Wing, Minnesota native said. For the season, Gryder had 33 saves in 50 relief appearances, which totaled 56. He fanned 91 betters, while walking 18 and put up a record of 5-2 to go with his 0.80 ERA. He received 21 first place votes out of a possible 24. Gilberto Cortez of the Winchester Mountaineers finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Ken Griffey of the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers finished third.
