Everly Pounds 3 HR Monday, September 16th , 2024 Ben Everly went on an explosive hitting spree against the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers at Mountaineers Park, launching a trio of blasts to help the Winchester Mountaineers win, 11-1. The catcher finished 4-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 4 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Everly said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Encinitas skipper Logan Greening said Everly was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Ben Everly singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Mark Moore in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Chad Asbury in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Jack Judy in the 8th. So far in 2024 Everly is batting .333 with 33 home runs, 115 RBIs and 104 runs scored. He has 149 hits in 448 at-bats and a .425 OBP. |
