Cortez Voted E-AA Pitcher of the Year Award Saturday, October 21st , 2023 Gilberto Cortez of the Winchester Mountaineers had a fine 11-2 season in 2023 and today claimed the Eastern AA Pitcher of the Year Award. He started 20 times, threw 129 innings while collecting 124 strikeouts and fashioned a 1.95 ERA. Cortez allowed only 91 hits, 41 walks and a .195 opponents' batting average. He ended up tied with Ed Jenkins with 131 total votes and 131 first place votes.
