Capitols Pitching Ravaged by Swain Saturday, August 16th , 2025 Chris Swain exploded for a barrage of base hits at The Capitol Dome. The Stockton second baseman had a field day in his team's 7-5 triumph over the Augusta Capitols, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Swain must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Chris Swain singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Looking at his stats this year, Swain has compiled a .299 batting average, while hitting 6 home runs and driving in 24 runs. He has played in 91 games and scored 51 runs.
