Corpus Christi Eliminated from Playoff Contention Friday, August 28th , 2026 The Corpus Christi Mermen have a new opponent: mathematics. The Mermen still have games to play in their disappointing 2026 campaign, but the numbers say they won't mean much -- the Mermen were today mathematically eliminated from qualifying for the postseason. Before this season, the Mermen had made the playoffs 2 times in a row. In the 22 years they have been a ABA Double A franchise, they have missed the playoffs 13 times. In the last 10 seasons, the Mermen have made the playoffs 7 times. |
