"I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the St. Louis second baseman said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it." Gates, who leads the W-AA in RBI with 71, finished the day with 3 hits in 4 at-bats and 5 RBIs. Danny Gates hit a solo-shot off Tadamasa Takashima in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Fabien Pastorelli in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Fabien Pastorelli in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
