Kukowski W-AA Selection for 2020 Most Valuable Player Award
Sunday, October 25th , 2020
At the age of 21, Eric Kukowski of the Hamilton Bulldogs could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2020 was good enough to win the left fielder the Western AA Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .294 batting average this year, as well as a .405 on-base percentage. He played 124 games and racked up 128 hits, 21 doubles, 4 triples, 28 home runs, 89 RBIs and 78 runs scored.
He received 22 first place votes out of a possible 24. Julio Negron of the Augusta Capitols finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Geoff Hereth of the Vail Tigercats finished third.
