Roberts Blasts 3 into Bleachers Friday, July 17th , 2026 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Vail Tigercats. Stockton right fielder Chris Roberts tripled up on the home runs to propel the Ragin Cajuns to a win, 7-3, at Ballpark of Stockton. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Vail manager Mike Alexander said. "Roberts hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Roberts collected 3 hits in 3 at-bats, 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Chris Roberts hit a two-run home run off Mike Redmond in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Mike Redmond in the 4th and hit a two-run home run off Jason McCoart in the 6th. This season, Roberts is batting .298 with 87 hits and 17 home runs. He has scored 44 times and has 55 RBI. |
