Libertyville Stops Bloomquist Hit Streak Sunday, July 7th , 2024 The Libertyville Polecats pitching staff did its job, holding hot-hitting Steve Bloomquist hitless in 5 at-bats during the club's 11-6 victory over the Washington Wildthings at Field of the Polecats. The disappointing performance ended a 23-game hitting streak for the shortstop. "I'm a little down right now," Bloomquist said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." Currently Bloomquist is batting .328 with 14 home runs, 49 RBIs and 60 runs scored. |
