Capitols Heading to World Series Wednesday, September 30th , 2020 The Augusta Capitols are heading to the World Series, having narrowly defeated the Sonoma Scorpions. Augusta edged Sonoma in the series 4-3, with a win at The Capitol Dome in the clinching game by a 4-3 margin. Jeff McDougal turned in a strong offensive performance for the Capitols and got series MVP for his efforts. "I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a World Series win." It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if McDougal continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance. For the series, he hit .259 with a .300 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Augusta Capitols will play against the Winchester Mountaineers in the next round.
