Bailey Gets 5 Hits Friday, June 21st , 2024 Miami first baseman Steve Bailey had a big day at Ballpark of Oklahoma City against the London Tigers. The 27-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led to the 12-5 Boll Weevils triumph over London. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Bailey said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Steve Bailey singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
