Castano Is King of Swing: Goes Deep 3 Times Sunday, August 13th , 2023 Humberto Castano brutalized the Hialeah Firecats pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 7-0 Sonoma victory at Firecats Ballpark. The Sonoma Scorpions right fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 3-for-3 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Too much Humberto Castano today," Firecats manager John Costa said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Humberto Castano hit a solo-shot off Chris Mueller in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Chris Mueller in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Tim Morris in the 5th and was hit by a pitch in the 7th. This season in 73 games, Castano has hit at a .249 clip with 57 hits, 13 home runs, 39 RBIs and 38 runs scored. |
