At the age of 25, Brian Hayden says he still has a lot to learn about life in ABA Double A.

But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Sonoma Scorpions reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2021 Western AA Reliever of the Year Award.

"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the
Centennial, Colorado native said.

For the season, Hayden had 17 saves in 49 relief appearances, which totaled 112. He fanned 105 betters, while walking 34 and put up a record of 7-2 to go with his 1.85 ERA.

He received 20 first place votes out of a possible 24. Matt Helms of the Hamilton Bulldogs finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Luis Ramirez of the London Tigers finished third with 2 first place votes.
