Reliever of the Year Award Goes to Gonzalez

Moises Gonzalez was a calming influence out of the Mesa Razor Sharks bullpen this season.

His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 25-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Eastern AA Reliever of the Year Award for 2021.

The Mt. Shasta, California native won the award with 36 saves in 53 relief appearances, 104 strikeouts in 85.2 innings and a record of 4-5 to go with his 2.00 ERA.

He received 12 first place votes out of a possible 24. Jeremy Chalmers of the Winchester Mountaineers finished second in voting with 12 first place votes, while Jordan Gaines of the Boise Dread Kings finished third.
