Chiefs Lose Custer for Season Sunday, July 13th , 2025 Mike Custer has to call it a season. The Mescalero Chiefs reliever sustained a season-ending injury against the Corpus Christi Mermen and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Custer was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as radial nerve compression and stated that he would not be able to play for 6-7 months. Custer has taken the hill for 13 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 0-0 record with a 3.86 ERA. The Mescalero reliever has limited opposing batters to a .245 batting average. |
