Mountaineers Heading to World Series Saturday, September 21st , 2019 The Winchester Mountaineers are on to the World Series after a convincing series win over the Rohnert Park Cougars. Winchester wrapped up the series sweep with a 5-1 win in the last game, to take the series 4-0. "We expected to win and we executed the way we needed to," said Elijah Batts, who was named series MVP. For the series, Batts hit .200 with a .333 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Winchester Mountaineers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Augusta Capitols - Sonoma Scorpions series. Augusta leads the series 3 games to 2. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes. |
