Mountaineers Heading to League Championship Series Wednesday, September 11th , 2019 With a 10-2 win to wrap up the series at Mountaineers Park, the Winchester Mountaineers have eliminated the Libertyville Polecats in the Division Series and move on to the League Championship Series. Winchester controlled the series from the outset and won it in a 4-0 sweep. Paul Brown led the charge offensively for the victors, winning series MVP honors. He posted a .294 batting average, along with a .294 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 5 runs. "We're not done yet," the MVP said. "There is still a lot to accomplish." The Winchester Mountaineers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Aurora Suns - Rohnert Park Cougars series. Aurora leads the series 3 games to 0. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes. |
