Yost Twirls 4-0 Shutout Tuesday, September 10th , 2019 Doug Yost kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Winchester Mountaineers were all smiles after winning 4-0 against the Libertyville Polecats at Mountaineers Park today. The left-handed Yost gave up no runs in his start, permitted 1 hit and had 10 strikeouts. "If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Yost said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be." Up to now Yost has compiled an ERA of 2.92 with a 18-7 mark over 30 starts. He has 252 strikeouts in 218.2 innings and has held opponents to a .193 batting average. |
