W-AA Votes Scorpions Evert Top Player Monday, July 17th , 2023 The hottest bat of the week belonged to Sonoma shortstop Matt Evert. He went on a rampage last week against W-AA hurlers and rapped out 10 hits in 23 at-bats for a .435 average while hitting 4 home runs, driving in 5 runs and scoring 6 runs -- numbers quite worthy of the Western AA Player of the Week trophy. Evert was honored today at a press conference. For the season, Evert is batting .265 with 86 hits and 14 home runs. He has scored 38 times and batted in 44. |
