Encinitas Snaps Sanders Streak at 22 Monday, June 17th , 2024 The Encinitas Eskimo Brothers got more than the 13-5 victory at Razor Sharks Ballpark -- they also put an end to the 22-game hitting streak of Mesa Razor Sharks catcher Brian Sanders by holding him without a hit in 3 at-bats. After the game, Sanders seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak. "I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today." This season, Sanders is hitting at a .376 pace with 15 home runs, 62 RBIs and has scored 45 times. |
