Corpus Christi Snaps Willingham Streak at 32 Wednesday, June 24th , 2026 Damian Willingham's 32-game hitting streak was snapped at Chiefs Ballpark. The 26-year-old Mescalero Chiefs first baseman failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats in the game against the Corpus Christi Mermen, but Mescalero came out the winner, 2-1. "I don't think the streak was ever a big deal to Damian," Chiefs manager Hunter Santiago said after the game. "He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames." Willingham is currently hitting .378 with 7 home runsand 32 RBIs, while scoring 43 runs. |
