Willingham Runs Hit String to 32 Straight Games

Damian Willingham's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 32 games. The Mescalero first baseman smacked 1 hit against the Libertyville Polecats in today's game at Field of the Polecats, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Chiefs drop the game, 4-1.
"I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly." Damian Willingham struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th and struck out in the 7th.
Willingham is hitting at a .382 mark this season. His stats show 7 home runs, 32 RBIs and 43 runs scored. He has played 60 games for the Chiefs.
