Cornwall's Ramirez to Miss Season
Sunday, August 16th , 2020
The doctors have spoken and Alex Ramirez of the Cornwall Royals didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old shortstop is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Ramirez sustained his season-ending injury during the Sonoma Scorpions game yesterday at King George Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while running the bases. Today the Cornwall medical staff reported Ramirez had a broken bone in the elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5 months.
Presently Ramirez is batting .238 with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs. He has played in 39 games and scored 11 times.
