Mountaineers End Castano Streak Wednesday, August 17th , 2022 The 21-game hitting streak of Humberto Castano has come to an end. The Mobile Yard Dogs left fielder went 0-for-2 in his team's 7-0 loss to the Winchester Mountaineers at Mobile Grounds. "It's not just Humberto who came up short," Yard Dogs manager Gil Gomez said in his postgame press conference. "This was a team loss." Castano is hitting .310 this year with 27 home runs, 73 RBIs and 95 runs scored. He has 147 hits in 474 at-bats, 62 walks and a .391 on-base percentage. Castano has played in 113 games. |
