"Gosh, it's a shame we didn't win this game," Schultz said later. For the day, the Libertyville center fielder went 3-for-4 against Washington with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting. "I was in a groove and every pitch they tossed up there looked like a basketball," he said. "I tell you what, I was surprised because I didn't think the last ball had enough to get out. I thought it was just going to be a long out." Eric Schultz hit a solo-shot off Felix Acosta in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th.
