Tolbert Goes Yard 3 Times Sunday, July 10th , 2022 Today was a special one for Tyler Tolbert of the Augusta Capitols as he slammed three home runs in the 14-6 Capitols win over the St. Louis Cavalry. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Augusta left fielder collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats, drove in 5, and scored 3 runs in the contest at Cavalry Ballpark. Tyler Tolbert singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Andy Strong in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 9th and hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th. This season, Tolbert has delivered 16 hits in 49 at-bats for a .327 average with 8 home runs. He is getting on base at a .340 clip and his totals also include 14 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
