Campos Crashes 3 HR Against Fresno Monday, July 4th , 2022 Boise Dread Kings center fielder Manuel Campos put on a dazzling display of power at Running Rebels Ballpark against the Fresno Running Rebels. In the 13-7 Dread Kings victory, Campos penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Fresno manager Jayden Edwards said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 23-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Campos said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Manuel Campos hit a solo-shot off Scott Clary in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Scott Clary in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Joe Ackerman in the 6th, walked in the 8th and struck out in the 9th. For the season, Campos has hit .271 with 13 home runs and 27 RBIs. He has played in 31 games and scored 27 times. |
