Barrage of Hits Gets Thomas E-AA Award Monday, July 4th , 2022 20-year-old Tony Thomas made a few Mobile headlines during this past week as the rookie left fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Eastern AA officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 10 hits in 21 at-bats to put up a .476 average. Thomas collected 4 home runs, 9 RBIs and scored 5 runs. For the season, Thomas has produced 31 hits in 106 at-bats for a .292 average with 10 home runs and gotten on base at a .361 clip. |
