Banford on the Attack, Player of the Week Monday, June 16th , 2025 Hialeah fans have something to crow about today as Hialeah third baseman Derrick Banford nabbed the Western AA Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Banford. He posted a .750 average (9-for-12) this past week with 3 home runs, 6 RBIs, and 7 runs scored. This year, Banford is hitting .310 with 18 hits, 7 home runs, 13 RBIs and has scored 14 runs. |
