Cavalry Juan Leyva Wins W-AA Award Monday, August 23rd , 2021 So far in his young career, Juan Leyva has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Western AA in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 23-year-old St. Louis Cavalry first baseman hit at a torrid .692 clip as he collected 9 hits in 13 at-bats, 3 home runs, 4 RBIs and 5 runs scored. In 74 games this season, Leyva has compiled a .268 batting average with 76 hits and 19 home runs. He has also scored 49 times and knocked in 52 runs. |
