Monday, August 9th , 2021
The season is finished for Alex Fernandez of the Alcoa Millionaires. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Millionaires starting pitcher suffered bone chips in his elbow while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Libertyville Polecats. Team doctors said it would take at least 6-7 months to heal.
Over the season Fernandez has thrown 100.2 innings and dished out 99 strikeouts with a 8-7 mark and a 2.68 ERA.
