3 Roundtrippers for Sweeton Friday, August 2nd , 2019 George Sweeton went on an explosive hitting spree against the Mesa Razor Sharks at Razor Sharks Ballpark today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Libertyville Polecats to the 11-5 win. The left fielder finished 4-for-5 with 4 runs scored and 5 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Sweeton said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Mesa skipper Izzy Montano said Sweeton was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." George Sweeton hit a two-run home run off Juan Zendejas in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Juan Zendejas in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Ben Woodford in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. In 2019 Sweeton has hit at a .294 clip with 105 hits, 31 home runs, 63 RBIs and has scored 54 times. |
