Cornwall Relief Star Selected Best Pitcher Thursday, July 1st , 2021 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Scott Lewis, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Cornwall Royals closer, 22, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .186 average and walked away with the Western AA Pitcher of the Month award for June. Lewis posted a 2-0 mark and a 0.00 ERA in 10 relief appearances. In 12 innings, he had 6 saves, 14 strikeouts, and 1 walk. This season, Lewis has 12 saves. In 25 relief appearances he has tossed 29.1 innings, struck out 33 and issued 8 walks with a 3-5 record. The Cornwall reliever has recorded a 2.45 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .200 when he is in the game. |
