League Suspends van Steenbergen 3 Games Saturday, May 22nd , 2021 Aurora will not have the services of left fielder Guy van Steenbergen for several days. The league commissioner has suspended him for 3 games for arguing a third strike call. The altercation occurred in yesterday's contest with the Libertyville Polecats and involved the home plate umpire. Riled up by being called out, van Steenbergen slightly shoved him after he was ejected. In baseball it is taboo to touch an umpire. van Steenbergen is batting .181 this season in 37 games with 7 home runs, 14 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 23 hits in 127 at-bats. |
