Velasquez Wins NC Player of the Week Prize Monday, May 4th , 2026 22-year-old Danny Velasquez sent shock waves through American Baseball Association last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the National Conference Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Velasquez made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .552 average, 16 hits in 29 at-bats, 1 home run and 7 RBI. Where the Mexico City Aztecs shortstop goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Velasquez certainly made his mark last week. This year, Velasquez is hitting .357 with 40 hits, 2 home runs, 11 RBIs and has scored 14 runs. |
