Shiners End Ulmer Streak Sunday, April 2nd , 2023 Richard Ulmer, first baseman for the Vancouver Mounties, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the Charleston Shiners. Not only did the Shiners break his 21-game hitting streak, they also beat Vancouver by the score of 4-3. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Ulmer said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." |
