Nesmith and Woodside Traded Wednesday, March 24th , 2021 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Fleet announced today the acquisition of 21-year old minor league CF Ed Woodside from the Boston Whistlers in exchange for 31-year old RHP Jayden Nesmith. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Fleet, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." Nesmith has chalked up a lifetime ERA of 4.07 with 51 victories and 50 defeats. He has totaled 920 career strikeouts in 844 innings while holding opponents to a .239 batting average. |
